Gregory McKee is an associate professor and director of the Quentin Burdick Cooperative Center at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Since joining NDSU in 2006, he has pursued a mission of conducting, promoting and coordinating university education and research on cooperatives; strengthening the operations of existing cooperatives; and working toward expanding employment and economic opportunities through cooperatives. Currently, Dr. McKee teaches a semester-length course on cooperative business management to undergraduate students online and at universities in North Dakota, and a course on agribusiness strategy. Recent research has focused on agricultural and electricity cooperatives and credit unions as well as several case studies about significant management decisions made by cooperatives headquartered in the Upper Great Plains.

Greg’s areas of expertise include:

  • Cooperative business finance
  • Cooperative business governance
  • Education about cooperative businesses to adult audiences
  • Marketing issues unique to cooperatives

He completed Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural and resource economics at the University of California, Davis in 2006 and has been at NDSU ever since.
